Thank you for your interest in Hurst PD! The following offers the general steps for becoming a Hurst Police Officer:

Step One:

Apply for the position of Police Officer, and pre-register to take the entry-level Police Officer examination and physical assessment.

Apply online, and pre-register for an upcoming exam, by going to hursttx.gov/employment. Click on the posting for Police Officer.
*This application process also serves as pre-registration for the entry-level examination.*

Step Two:  

Print and complete a Personal History Statement for Sworn Positions, including all documents requested. The Personal History Statement can be accessed by clicking on the link below and downloading a copy.

Bring the completed personal history statement with you to the exam.

Step Three: 

Candidates who pass the written examination and physical assessment, and those that provide a completed Personal History Statement, will continue with the screening process including an in-person interview. If you live more than 200 miles from the City of Hurst, you will have an opportunity to interview the day of the written examination. Details will be provided in the Exam Notice.
