Powers and DutiesAny person aggrieved by any interpretation of the Code or by any decision or ruling by the Building Official shall have the right to make an appeal to the Codes Appeals and Advisory Board. The Board shall review and submit to the City Council a recommendation for the adoption of the Uniform Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Fire, and National Electrical Codes prior to consideration by the City Council. - Hurst Code of Ordinances Chapter 5, Building Regulations, Section 5-1 (paraphrased) Number of Members: Seven (7) regular members; two (2) members with construction trade experience and five (5) members residents of the city. Quorum: Four (4) members of the Codes, Appeals, and Advisory Board shall constitute a quorum, and any action shall require the vote of at least four (4) members. If necessary to establish a quorum, members of the Zoning Board of Adjustment will serve as alternate members of the Codes, Appeals, and Advisory Board. Term: Two years for regular members. Meetings: At City Hall on as needed basis. |
