The City of Hurst, Texas (“Hurst”) Facebook page serves as a limited public forum and all content published therein is subject to monitoring and removal. However, the Hurst Facebook page is not continuously monitored 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Hurst reserves the right to remove, in Hurst’s sole discretion, inappropriate comments or posts if the content is off-subject or out of context, contains obscenity or sexual content, contains personal identifying information or sensitive personal information; contains profanity or obscenity; is threatening, harassing, or discriminatory; incites or promotes violence or illegal activities; contains information that reasonably could compromise individual or public safety; contains content that violates the legal ownership rights of another party; or solicitations of commerce. Material that is repeatedly posted, regardless of its content, such that it threatens to overwhelm Hurst’s Facebook page may be removed. Hurst reserves the right to ban followers or users from Hurst’s Facebook page for repeatedly making inappropriate comments or posts. Content on Hurst social media sites are public records that are subject to the Texas Public Information Act. This includes communications from Hurst and communications from the public. Requests under the Texas Public Information Act for copies of public records on Hurst’s social media sites must be submitted to the Hurst’s City Secretary's Office.
