Welcome to the Office of the City Secretary. It is sometimes referred to as the Public Information Office. This office is responsible for a broad range of administrative and legal support for the Mayor's Office and the public including City Council meetings, elections, City boards, commissions and committees, and a variety of licenses and permits. The Office of the City Secretary serves as a document and information resource to the City Council, staff and citizens. |
City Council Meetings
City Council meetings are generally held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month in the City Council chambers, on the first floor of City Hall, 1505 Precinct Line Road. The work session meeting typically begins around 5:30 p.m., followed by the regular meeting of the City Council at 6:30 p.m. The meeting times are subject to change, and may be verified on the posted agenda. Executive Session meetings sometimes occur during the regular meeting but are closed to the public.

The Public Information Act
Texas Government Code, Chapter 552, gives you the right to access government records. All government information is presumed to be available to the public. Certain exceptions may apply to the disclosure of the information. Governmental bodies shall promptly release requested information that is not confidential by law, either constitutional, statutory, or by judicial decision, or information for which an exception to disclosure has not been sought.
You may request information in the following ways. 1) Complete the online form and it is sent to the Office of the City Secretary. 2) Print and complete the Public Information Request form [PDF], fax to 817.788.7054, mail or deliver to the City Secretary's office in City Hall, 1505 Precinct Line Road.
Permits, Certificates, Licenses
The Office of the City Secretary issues a variety of licenses and permits. Once application material has been submitted, it typically takes about one to two weeks before a license or permit is issued to an approved applicant. Read more...
