The City of Hurst Volunteers in Action Program (VIA) has been an integral part of city government operations for decades. The volunteer program plays a key role as the City of Hurst grows and is required to maintain and meet the expanding service needs of the community. The volunteer work force is a valuable resource that provides each City department with a viable alternative when addressing future staffing needs.
Library Volunteers
Hurst public Library has several ongoing as well as special event volunteer opportunities. Information on how to become a volunteer is available on the VIA Program page.
Teen Volunteers
Teens ages 14-18 can earn volunteer hours for school by planning teen programs, contributing ideas to the library's collection, and helping to make the library more teen friendly. An application is required to join. TIP Meetings are on the third Thursday of each month. Become part of our Teen Innovation Panel through the City of Hurst Volunteers In Action (VIA) program. |
