Access to Computing & Technology in the Library

In modern society it is becoming challenging to function without technology. Whether looking for a job, car or movie, or paying bills, the use of technology is becoming a necessity. The Hurst Library recognizes this necessity and offers a myriad of technology services ranging from high speed internet access to printing.

Public Access to Computers
Access to public computers, the Internet, productivity software, printing, and a knowledgeable staff to guide your use of technology.
Copier
Our copier can make copies in color ($.50/page) and black-and-white ($.10/page).
Fax Machine

Fax services are available at $.50/page (black-and-white only, 19-page maximum).

NOTE: our fax station cannot receive fax transmissions, only send.

Mobile Printing
With MobilePrint, you can utilize the library's color ($.50/page) or black-and-white ($.10/page) printers from your personal computer or mobile device, no matter where you are. Your prints are available for pickup in the Computer Center while the library is open, but only for 24 hours after they were sent.
Printing
Print documents from the library's computers in color ($.50/page) and black-and-white ($.10/page).
Scan Station
Scan hard-copy documents or images, save them to a USB drive, send them as a pdf to your mobile device via QR code, or send them in an email from our public Scan Station.
Technology Advisory
Senior Computer Center staff are available to answer your technology questions. If you got a new gadget or have concerns about some aspect of the technological information age we live in, we're here to guide you as best we can. Appointments are encouraged (but not mandatory) as senior staff are not always available.

 

Public Computing and Internet Access Policy

Whether on one of the Library's public computing stations or a personal laptop or mobile device, patrons of all ages are expected to adhere to current policies and laws regarding acceptable public behavior and use of public computing and Internet access services.
