Hurst Library's Youth Services Team maintains a wide variety of materials and programs for children from birth through high school and their parents to promote a love for books, learning, literacy, and just plain fun.
Reading
Reading programs are available year-round to encourage a healthy diet of books. Below are our currently active reading programs for children:
Who: Children from birth until they enter kindergarten What: Read to your child any book...from home, library books, books read at storytime…any book counts! Read a book, once or a hundred times! When: Anytime! However long it takes to get to 1000! Where: Any place: storytime, caregiver’s home, grandparents How: Tap the REGISTER button above, scroll down to the "Challenges" section of the HEB Reading Challenges website, then tap to "Register an Individual or Family." Dig deep into this year's Texas Bluebonnet Award list!Caregivers and children in grades 3-6 will read one chapter book on the Bluebonnet Award list each month.
