PIPELINE ROAD FROM UPTOWN BLVD TO PATTY DRIVE
ATMOS GAS 16” TRANSMISSION LINE REPLACEMENT
Beginning the week of August 17th Atmos will begin replacement of a 16-inch transmission line. The new line will be constructed in the westbound curb lane of Pipeline Road and will extend from Uptown Blvd to Patty Drive. The westbound curb lane will be closed allowing only one lane west bound for the entire distance of the project. The duration of the project is projected to take approximately 90 working days. Citizens should plan on traffic delays if traveling through the project. There may be temporary intersection closures but detour routes will be clearly marked. 2019 Updates
March 7, 2019 |
Starting Monday March 11, 2019 Atmos will begin working on replacing gas service lines in the area shown on the attached map. They will begin south of Pipeline Road and work north. Atmos will send out mail outs to residence today and door hangers will be placed starting tomorrow by their sub-contractor, Mission Site Services. Their working hours will be M-F 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. No weekend work is anticipated. Work should be complete in this area in approximately 3 months. 2018 Updates
November 29, 2018 |
Contractor has finished all paving and will be working on sod and cleanup next week. They will also be working on minor issues throughout the project. Traffic control removal should start by the end of next week. There will be areas throughout the project that will have temporary traffic control while the contractor finalizes his work. McClendon should be finished with all work in the next few weeks. Oncor has been contacted to start placing street lights and City of Hurst Parks Department should begin work on irrigation in the median areas. |
November 16, 2018 | Contractor will continue paving sidewalks and drives on the north side of Pipeline Road. Will start placing concrete in median areas. Work on Trailwood Drive intersection will take approximately 1 week and should be open the last week in November. |
November 8, 2018 |
Contractor will continue paving sidewalks and drives on the north side of Pipeline Road. Possibly work on Trailwood Drive intersection. Pedestrian light foundations and conduit will continue on nor.th side of the roadway |
November 1, 2018 |
Contractor will continue paving on the median area, sidewalks, and drainage inlets on the north side of Pipeline Road. Pedestrian light foundations and conduit will continue on north side of the roadway. |
October 25, 2018 |
Contractor will continue with paving in the median on east side of Hurstview and sidewalks and drainage inlets on the north side of Pipeline Road. Pedestrian lights will begin to be placed on the south side of Pipeline Road as well as foundations and conduit on the north side of the roadway. Trailwood Dr. is closed for drainage inlet work but should be open later next week. |
September 28, 2018 |
Contractor will continue working on driveways, sidewalks and drainage inlets. Median work will continue with boring conduit and building light pole foundations. Forrest Oak should reopen by Tuesday and Barbara Ann will remain closed while inlet work progresses. |

Traffic patterns have changed on Pipeline Road. West bound traffic is now traveling on north side of roadway while eastbound is continuing on south side of roadway. Contractor will continue working on driveways, sidewalks and drainage inlets while also starting work in the median |
August 30, 2018 | Contractor has finished majority of main lane paving. Driveway work will continue on north side. There will be a traffic pattern change next week. West bound traffic will move to the north side lanes, and east bound traffic will remain on south side. |
August 23, 2018 | Contractor continues working on main lane paving. Will start work on driveways on north side. All intersections are currently open. |

Contractor continues working on sub grade and paving. Forest Oak is closed while the contractor paves through the intersection. It should reopen next week. Detour routes are in place. |
August 2, 2018 | McClendon will continue working on the subgrade west of Hurstview and paving operations will continue. Paving operations west of Hurstview will continue next week. Trailwood will be closed and detour signs will be in place. Trailwood should reopen the week of August 13th. |
July 26, 2018 |
McClendon will continue working on the subgrade west of Hurstview and paving operations will continue next week. Hurstview intersection north of Pipeline Road is now open. The intersection of Pipeline and Barbara Ann is closed for paving and should be open by the end of next week. They will begin paving operations west of Hurstview next week. Trailwood will be closed on Wednesday August 1st and should reopen by Friday August 10th. |
July 19, 2018 |
McClendon will continue working on the subgrade west of Hurstview and paving operations will continue next week. Hurstview intersection north of Pipeline Road will be closed until Friday July 27th. They will begin paving operations west of Hurstview next week. |
July 11, 2018 | Atmos transmission line has passed all tests and preparations to cut over to new line will commence next week. The expulsion of gas from the old line will take place Wednesday morning at the location between Mary Dr. and Eunice. The new line will be hooked up the same day and be purged the evening of the 18th. The evening process is to purge the air out of the new line and replace with gas. Some gas however, will be expelled at this time. The gas will not be burned but will be released into the atmosphere. McClendon will continue working on the subgrade, and paving operations will commence next week. Hurstview intersection north of Pipeline Road will be closed Thursday July 12th for 1 day for remixing of subgrade. It will be closed again on Tuesday July 17th for minimum of 10 days for paving and concrete curing. Detour routes will be marked |
July 5, 2018 | Atmos sub-contractor is preparing to test the new transmission line. They are currently waiting on the fittings to complete this process. Testing is scheduled for Sunday July 8th. Once the test has passed the connections to the existing transmission line can take place. If all goes well with the test Sunday, the connection will take place either the 11th or 12th. They will let me know Monday the results of the test. McClendon will be working around the gas line work. Hurstview closure has been postponed to the 11th or 12th for one day only so they can recut the subgrade. They will also be paving towards the end of the week from Barbara Ann heading west. |
June 28, 2018 | Atmos sub-contractor is backfilling and compacting transmission line trench. Plans to connect the existing line with the new line should commence the week of July 9th. During connection a strong gas odor will be present. Exact date(s) will be forthcoming. McClendon will be working on recutting and fine grading the stabilized subgrade from Hurstview to Barbara Ann. Paving operations are scheduled to commence on the week of July 9th. Hurstview intersection north of Pipeline is scheduled to be closed on July 9th for approximately 10 days for base work and paving. |
June 20, 2018 | Atmos sub-contractor will continue working on transmission line. Walmart drive is scheduled to be closed Thursday June 21st after 8PM and will reopen by Friday morning. Walmart has been notified. McClendon will be working on recutting the stabilized subgrade from Hurstview to Barbara Ann and recutting the subgrade from Hurstview west to Trailwood. |
June 6, 2018 | Atmos sub-contractor is onsite working on boring new transmission line under Precinct Line Road. McClendon will be working on stabilizing the subgrade from Hurstview to Barbara Ann. The intersection of Hurstview north of Pipeline Road will be closed from June 11 till June 14th and will reopen Friday June 15th. Detour routes will be marked. |
May 30, 2018 | Atmos sub-contractor is onsite working on new transmission line. Trailwood Drive at Pipeline Road is scheduled to be closed on Saturday June 2nd for 1 day and Forest Oaks is scheduled to be closed Sunday June 3rd for 1 day. Detour routes will be marked. McClendon will be working on stabilizing the subgrade from Hurstview to Barbara Ann. The intersection of Hurstview north of Pipeline Road will be closed from June 4 till June 7th and will reopen Friday June 8th. Detour routes will be marked. |
May 24, 2018 | Atmos sub-contractor is onsite working on new transmission line. Will start boring process on west side of project Tuesday May 29th. Trailwood Drive at Pipeline Road is scheduled to be closed on Wednesday May 30th for 1 day. Detour routes will be marked. McClendon will be doing dirt work east of Hurstview in preparation of lime stabilization of sub-grade. |
May 17, 2018 | McClendon Construction is removing pavement east of Hurstview Drive and will continue to work on grading. Atmos gas transmission work will continue working west of Hurstview. Any intersection closures will be coordinated with the City and advance notification will be given. Gas line bore at Precinct Line Road has been delayed due to utility conflict. |
May 10, 2018 | Atmos sub-contractor is onsite working on new transmission line. Will possibly start bore under Precinct Line Road latter part of next week. McClendon Construction is removing pavement east of Hurstview Drive. |
May 3, 2018 | Atmos sub-contractor is onsite working on new transmission line. Trailwood Drive intersection at Pipeline Road is open. |
April 25, 2018 | Atmos sub-contractor is onsite working on new transmission line. Trailwood Drive at Pipeline Road is scheduled to be closed on Friday April 27th for approximately 1 week. Detour routes will be marked. Contractor is planning on working Saturday and Sunday to complete bore east to Mary |

April 5, 2018 | Atmos sub-contractor has been onsite locating existing utilities and surveying for directional bore. Should start directional boring operation Monday or Tuesday of next week. |
March 29, 2018 | Due to the rain the Atmos transmission work has been delayed. It is now scheduled to start on April 2, 2018. They will begin on the east side of the project close to the Mary Drive intersection. The transmission line construction is estimated to take 90 days. |
March 21, 2018 | Atmos transmission work is scheduled to begin on March 26, 2018. |

All poles that were in conflict have been removed from the north side of the roadway. Atmos transmission work has been rescheduled to start on March 26, 2018 due to the gas main situation in Dallas. No other work can be accomplished until the gas transmission line has been relocated. |

AT&T has removed lines from poles on north side of Pipeline. They need to remove 4 wooden poles which should be done this week. Oncor can now remove the rest of the north side poles that are in conflict. Atmos transmission work is expected to start the week of March 12th. Gas transmission work should last approximately 90 days. |
